This was the view from the porch of the house I was staying at with Nancy and Lewis in Oregon. God it was beautiful, we had such a fantastic time up there.

I did the background in oils, and the boy in watercolor. It took me about 7 hours? I did this at Merrilyn’s and only go there once a week for two hours.
Anyway, I’m really pleased with this. I like it because I can’t tell if the boy is the one who set the fire, a ghost who died in the fire, or someone who just escaped from it
Forest Prince
(this painting is about twice as big as my scanner so you can’t really see the rest of the tree and his torso but ah well)
I get out of bed, go over to the window, and look out at the night sky. And think about time that can never be regained. I think of rivers, of tides. Forests and water gushing out. Rain and lightning. Rocks and shadows. All of these are in me.
